FOX 2?s John H. Pertzborn received the Friedrich Hecker Freedom Award from the German American Heritage Society of Saint Louis. He received the award at the 22nd annual black-tie dinner.
The award is presented to an outstanding individual who fosters understanding between Germany and the United States.
John Pertzborn was one of the first broadcast journalists to participate the German-American professional exchange program in 1995. He was sponsored by Germany?s Radio in the American Sector Foundation.
John helps thousands of St. Louisans enjoy their German-American heritage as the Master of Ceremonies of area German festivals and St. Louis? 2011 Oktoberfest.
